God is showing man how the 'LAKE OF FIRE' looks like (Rev 21:8) Repent and believe on the LORD JESUS CHRIST, and be Baptized in the Name of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38), and you shall pass from DEATH INTO ETERNAL LIFE. The Great and Dreadful Day of the LORD is near. Look up, Bride of Christ, for YOUR REDEMPTION draws nearer. Luke 21: 25-36. Shalom!

Iceland sits on the mid Atlantic rift. That’s how it formed. The North American plate and Eurasian plate are splitting apart. They are moving at about 3 cm ( 1 inch) a year. That speed has been faster in the past. Iceland is getting bigger!🤗

I wonder, was anyone in the immediate area as the 2nd fissure opened up?
bass & pickrel slayer6 dögum síðan
@Paavo Bergmann oh ok I see what you mean. I've checked out some of the footage and even just seeing it from my phone it still looks pretty cool. Usually when a volcano erupts the people head away from it but there's actually been quite abit of people going there to see it up close. I know I would. Well probably becuz it's not like way too explosive type of an eruption. eruption.
Paavo Bergmann7 dögum síðan
@bass & pickrel slayer I wasn´t there, I only saw the livestream, when the cam suddenly panned over to the left at 12:01, and there was lava spurting out of the field....

Is this from the same eruption as the other one with the two cones? Are they somehow connected?
Rob Pappin6 dögum síðan
@Anna Traustadottir Thank you.
Anna Traustadottir8 dögum síðan
Yes, the lava comes from the same magma path. This magma path is about 7 km long. Geologists have been monitoring this magma path and it´s journey underneath from 1. mars when they found out it was starting to form. The question was whether it would reach the surface. Well it did 19. mars. It is not surprising that knew fissures open up over the magma path since it does not lie deep in this area and in fact more fissures could open up further away.
Eric Mix9 dögum síðan

Cathy Baldry9 dögum síðan
New fissure umm no it has overflowed and poured into new valley..
Cathy Baldry9 dögum síðan
Yeah yeah I just realised. It looks like it has opened up at the back of the crater. I'm not sure if it was along the same path that the lava was flowing to reach the original fissure. I know they were discussing that considering how full the valley was that it was likely to overflow into 2 other possible valleys nearby. They just hope it goes toward the more inland valley as the lower one is closer to the ocean. Oceans and lava do not mix well.
yeah right9 dögum síðan

So when lava comes out of the earth what fills in the void left in the earth? I mean it can't come out or it would create a vacuum, so something has to replace it or push it out, or so it would seem.
Paavo Bergmann8 dögum síðan
there is a tremendous pressure building when the mantle convection heats up the base of the crust, and it starts expanding due to the heat. I would guess the force comes from the elasticity of the surrounding, non-molten rock. Then cracks form, eventually a fissure opens, and it squirts out.
Nancy Mako9 dögum síðan
The flow looks like a giant clawed hand reaching to grab all it can.
Hankakah9 dögum síðan
