Very interesting comments here: Oh don't do this! She is cute. (and yes she is btw...) .... BUT NOONE says it should be made way easier for the future. USB-C shows how it is done. USB in general does. Also hdmi, vga and power cables do. It are 15+ parts and way more cables. So why not make 6 parts which can be only in 1 way clipped into the other or are connected by a single cable? There could be a "Cage" (case with built-in mainboard+fan) in which the user puts "Powerbox" (PSU+USV) + "Speedbox" (GPU+CPU+fan) + "Storagebox" (RAM+HDD/SSD), before giving in a "Softwarecard/-stick" (SD/Flash with OS). Then there is 1 cable to a "Inputbox" (keyboard+mouse/touch) on the table which holds ports for "Outputboxes" (display+speaker or printer+scanner). It would be way better for the hardware. And only advanced ones need to open these boxes... Have a look on the Raspberry Pi400 and how it is setup. Or any tablet or smartphone. Or on the consoles. There should be noone asking why these are gaining presence on the market while the PC loses more and more. Don't you think?

Well I think more research into building a computer is your best way to build your first computer lol.. I was 65 when I built my first computer and I have refurbished quite a few older desktops now and done some simple upgrades so I can resell them just to fund my joy in being able to play with computers and ISboth and the various guys online of which you Linus are amongst the best of lol and it's always great to watch your perspective on various things.. I myself have mainly played with Intel mainly so I don't have to worry about having to flash the bios lol but if I did go Ryzen the company I buy my bits off will do it for me for free so thats always a bonus. I just enjoy the simplicity of Intel and I prefer the cpu coolers I can actually screw into the plate rather than the lever type as I often wonder about applying to much pressure on some items .. But it was enjoyable watching this video and I also cringed with her testing method and the wobbling on the graphics card to see if it was seated properly lol.

pick the cpu and gpu you need, choose a motherboard with the right cpu socket, the pci port(s) and other features you may need or want. pick ram that fit on the motherboard. pick an ssd for the os and an hdd for the data. now pick a power supply that has enough power for the parts and then pick a case. that's roughly how i do it. except when i build a pc for my self: pick a pc that you conveniently have just standing somewhere collecting dust, cpu may come preinstalled. pick some ram that is supposed to be dead but magically works in this config. pick a 128GB ssd you purcased for stuff like that, pick an old ass hdd from the hdd pile, pick a random power supply. put it in a cardboard box. the last step is optional.

You cannot expect someone who has little or no Technical Knowledge especially geared toward computers to actually succeed in the DIY build process without guidance. Maybe after spending a few days to a week exploring all the You Tube videos can help. Everyone's idea of creating their own build will be different or perceived to be the best. You start with a Financial Budget. Review the latest products. Matching products that function well together , are compatible and are appropriate such as AMD APU won't work in a Intel Motherboard. A 350 Watt PSU that is unable to supply proper voltages and demand for the APU/ CPU / GPU. Buying the correct items required and those that have good reputation in quality and workmanship. Proper tools. Then proceed to How to Build? Beginners often will make mistakes and errors only to learn from them. Oh! read the instructions and do your best following them. Double check your work before moving forward. Good luck,

"If she went Intel, she could have used onboard graphics while waiting for a decent GPU" *clap* *clap* *clap* BINGO! That is exactly what I did, and with patience and persistence, I was able to find a 1060 at retail. Although I was looking for a 1660 TI & would prefer a 3070, finding anything at retail is incredible, especially finding the model you want. (White GPU on white build for me). and will be a great temp card. the hate on intel has had a shockingly huge impact on PC enthusiast, and although yes, the nm issue is a problem, but I'm cool with intel.
